Schecter positioned the Sun Valley Super Shredder 7 III as a high-output, extended-range instrument built around a bolt-on maple neck and mahogany body capped with a quilted maple top. Its 26.5-inch baritone scale and 24 X-Jumbo frets on a maple fretboard with a 16-inch radius gave it a wide, flat playing surface suited to lower tunings and aggressive technique. The Aurora Burst finish was offered in this configuration alongside black hardware throughout.
The bridge and nut were matched Floyd Rose 1500 Series units, providing a double-locking tremolo system. Pickup routing followed an HSS arrangement for a seven-string: an EMG Retro Active Hot 70 humbucker at the bridge, flanked by two EMG Retro Active Single Coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. All three are active designs, fed by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Output and tone were controlled through a Volume/Tone/5-Way Switch layout using metal knurled knobs with set screws. The nut width measured 1.874 inches (47.6mm), and the neck profile was a Thin C shape measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. Tuners were Schecter-branded units. Fretboard inlays were offset/reverse dots. The instrument shipped with Ernie Ball seven-string gauges (.009–.062). A case was not included.
