Schecter positioned the Damien Platinum-6 FR S within the Damien Platinum series as a feature-laden, high-output electric guitar built around a mahogany set-neck construction with Ultra Access heel shaping. It was manufactured in South Korea and finished in Satin Black with silver/platinum multi-ply binding.
The guitar ran a 25.5-inch scale across a 24-fret rosewood fretboard with a 14-inch radius, Platinum Bat inlays, and X-Jumbo fret wire. The three-piece maple neck was profiled in a Thin 'C' shape measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth. A Floyd Rose Special bridge and locking nut handled tuning stability, with Grover tuners at the headstock and satin chrome hardware throughout. The electronics centred on an EMG 81 at the bridge paired with a Sustainiac driver at the neck, powered by a dedicated double 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. A 3-way pickup selector, master volume, master tone, a 2-way Sustainiac on/off switch, and a 3-way Sustainiac mode switch (Fundamental, Mix, Harmonic) completed the control layout. The arched top body was strung from the factory with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.
Owners needing setup work, Floyd Rose maintenance, or Sustainiac system servicing should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with active electronics and double-locking tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
