Schecter positioned the Damien Platinum-6 FR within its Damien Platinum series as a high-output, active-electronics electric guitar built for heavy playing styles. Manufactured in South Korea, it featured a mahogany body with an arched top contour, a three-piece maple neck joined to the body via a set-neck construction with Ultra Access, and a rosewood fretboard carrying Platinum Bat inlays and silver/platinum multi-ply binding.
The neck measured a Thin 'C' profile, with a nut width of 1.625" (41.3mm), a 14" (355mm) fretboard radius, and 24 X-Jumbo frets across a 25.5" (648mm) scale. A Floyd Rose Special tremolo system served as both bridge and locking nut, with Grover tuners at the headstock and satin chrome hardware throughout. Electronics consisted of an EMG 81 at the bridge and an EMG 85 at the neck, routed through a volume control, tone control, and three-way switch, with power drawn from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046).
Owners working on setup, fret work, or Floyd Rose maintenance should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems; the nut width and fretboard radius specs above will help a technician source compatible replacement parts.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
