Schecter built the Damien Platinum-7 LH as a left-handed, seven-string entry in the Damien Platinum series, positioning it for players requiring extended range alongside a set-neck construction. It was manufactured in South Korea.
The guitar was built around a mahogany body with an arched top and silver/platinum multi-ply binding. The three-piece maple neck was joined to the body via a set-neck joint with Ultra Access and carried a rosewood fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets, platinum bat inlays, and a 16" (406mm) radius. The scale length ran 26.5" (673mm) — a baritone-adjacent measurement suited to lower tunings on the seventh string. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measured 1.889" (48mm) wide to accommodate the extended string spread. Grover tuners and satin chrome hardware completed the neck and headstock. Electronics comprised an EMG 81-7 at the bridge and an EMG 85-7 at the neck, each requiring a 9-volt battery via the clip-in compartment, controlled by a volume, tone, and three-way switch arrangement. The Tune-O-Matic bridge used string-through-body anchoring. Factory strings were Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 (.010–.056).
