Description

Powerwerks built the PW40BATBT as a self-contained, battery-powered PA tower within a range that also included the PW50 and PW100 systems. It was positioned as a portable all-in-one solution, distinguished from its siblings by front-panel control placement for easier access. The unit accepted AC mains power as an alternative to its built-in rechargeable battery, and incorporated a Bluetooth receiver alongside conventional wired inputs.

The system carried two channels, each with individual volume and high/low EQ controls, with all four inputs usable simultaneously. Channel 1 accepted both an XLR microphone input and a 1/4" line-level input; Channel 2 combined an auxiliary input with a line-level input. Phantom power of +15V was available on the mic inputs of both channels. The speaker complement consisted of one 4.5" driver and a 3.5" piezo horn, producing a frequency response of 70Hz–20kHz at 92dB/W/m nominal. The Bluetooth module was compliant with Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, offered Class 2 output power, and supported the A2DP profile with an audio DAC SNR of 94dB. The Powerlink jacks — one in, one out — accepted a balanced input and passed a pre-master-volume mix of both channels, allowing multiple units to be chained together into a single system. Eminence speakers were fitted. The cabinet measured 7.2" W × 18.8" H × 7.3" D and weighed 16 lbs, and included a carry handle, rubber feet for both bottom and side orientations, and a built-in standard speaker-stand adaptor socket.

Owners requiring service, recalibration, or help sourcing compatible Powerlink cables, speaker-stand adaptors, or replacement drivers should consult a qualified audio technician familiar with powered PA systems.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
