Hagstrom produced the Viking as the semi-hollow entry in its electric guitar range, positioning it alongside solid-body siblings the Swede and Super Swede. The VIK-L-BLK-U is the left-handed variant, finished in Black Gloss. The body is constructed from laminated maple with a solid centre sustain block, and the neck is hard maple, joined to the body via a set neck joint. The fingerboard material is Hagstrom's proprietary Resinator™.
The Viking's 24.75" (628 mm) scale runs across 22 medium jumbo frets on a 15" radius board, with 6 mm pearl dot inlays. The nut is a GraphTech Black TUSQ XL unit at 43 mm width. Two Hagstrom HJ-50 humbucking pickups are controlled by a 3-way toggle switch with independent volume and tone pots for each pickup. The bridge is a long-travel tune-o-matic paired with a Hagstrom trapeze tailpiece, and Hagstrom's own 18:1 ratio tuning keys handle tuning stability. The guitar ships strung with D'Addario EXP 110 (10-46). Compatible optional cases and bags are listed as the C55 and E25 respectively.
