Hagstrom built the Ultra Swede as a single-cutaway electric guitar positioned as a contemporary platform drawing on the company's core design values. The model combined a slender, compact body with an ultra-slim neck profiled in a D shape, placing it at the intersection of traditional set-neck construction and modern playability.
The neck is fitted with Hagstrom's H-Expander™ truss rod and carries a 15" radius Resinator™ fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, select block pearl and abalone inlays, and a 43 mm GraphTech Black Tusq XL nut. Two Hagstrom Custom 62 humbuckers feed into a 3-way toggle selector; a mini-toggle coil-split switch allows each humbucker to be tapped for single-coil output. The Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge with Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks, and 18:1 Hagstrom Design tuning keys complete the hardware complement. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXP 110 (.010–.046). A maple top sits over the body. Compatible optional hard case (C52) and gig bag (E20) were offered alongside the instrument.
