Hagstrom built the Ultra Swede (ULSWE-BGB-U) as a single-cutaway electric guitar positioned as a contemporary platform drawing on the marque's established design principles. It sat in the line as a instrument combining a slender, compact body with a set neck profiled in an easy D shape.
The neck carries a Resinator™ fingerboard over a 24.75" (628 mm) scale with a 15" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, Select Block Pearl/Abalone inlays, and a 43 mm GraphTech Black Tusq XL nut. Hagstrom's H-Expander™ truss rod runs through the neck. Two Hagstrom Custom 62 humbuckers feed a 3-way toggle selector; a dedicated mini-toggle coil-split switch provides single-coil operation from either pickup. The Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge — fitted with single brass string blocks and paired with a Hagstrom stop tailpiece — sits atop a maple top. Hagstrom Design 18:1 tuning keys handle string retention, and the guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXP 110 (10–46). Compatible optional cases include the C52 hard case and E20 gig bag.
