Description

Hagstrom built the Super Swede LTD (SSWLTDS-CCB-U) as a limited-edition variant of the Super Swede, positioning it at the upper tier of the Hagstrom electric guitar line. A notable aspect of this model is that Hagstrom returned production to Sweden for the first time since the early 1980s, marking a significant shift back to the brand's origins.

The body was constructed from two-piece African Gabon Mahogany topped with a 3/4" high-grade flame maple cap, finished in Hagstrom's polyester finish. The African Kaya Mahogany neck carries a "D" profile and is stabilised by Hagstrom's H-Expander™ truss rod system. The Resinator™ fingerboard runs a 25.5" (648 mm) scale with 22 medium jumbo frets at a 15" radius, pearloid block inlays, and a 43 mm Graph Tech Black Tusq XL nut. Hardware throughout pairs ruthenium and gold finishes: a Schaller STM Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Hagstrom Sustain Block tailpiece, and Schaller 18:1 M6 rear-locking tuning machines dressed with Hagstrom-branded buttons. The pickup configuration pairs a Lundgren AlNiCo-2 Heaven 57 humbucker at the neck with a Lundgren AlNiCo-5 Suckerbucker at the bridge, selected via a 3-way toggle. Each pickup's volume and tone controls feature an independent push-pull coil split, and all four controls use Schaller dome knobs with laser-engraved Hagstrom "H" markings. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario 10-46 strings and included a Hagstrom hard case.

Owners requiring setup work, replacement hardware, or compatible parts sourcing should consult a qualified guitar technician, who can reference the stated Schaller and Graph Tech components when identifying direct replacements.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
