Hagstrom built the Swede 2020 as a single-cutaway electric guitar positioned within their modern reinterpretation of the classic Swede line. The model carried the SWE20-CFL-U designation, with the Crimson Flame finish identifying this particular variant.
The body combined a two-piece African Mahogany core with a three-quarter-inch carved Maple top, joined by an African Mahogany set neck fitted with Hagstrom's proprietary H-Expander truss rod. The fingerboard was Hagstrom's Resinator material, radiused at 15 inches, carrying pearl block inlays across 22 medium-jumbo frets at a 24.75-inch scale length. The nut was a 43 mm Graph Tech Black Tusq XL unit. Pickups were Lundgren-designed AlNiCo II units, selected via a 3-way toggle switch, with the control complement running to two volume and two tone pots alongside a 3-way sound filter toggle. The bridge was a long-travel Tune-O-Matic with Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks; tuning machines were Graph Tech Ratio.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — particularly for the Resinator fingerboard, Graph Tech components, or the long-travel Tune-O-Matic bridge — should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician, as fit tolerances on the bridge and nut can be specific to this platform.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
