Hagstrom produced the Super Swede 2020 as a single-cutaway electric guitar sitting within their flagship Super Swede line. The SUSWE20-XSOP-U variant was finished in Excalibur Super Opaque, placing it among the higher-specification iterations of the model.
The guitar was built around a two-piece African Mahogany body with a three-quarter-inch carved Maple top, paired with an African Mahogany set neck incorporating Hagstrom's H-Expander truss rod system. The fingerboard is Hagstrom's proprietary Resinator material, radiused at 15 inches, with Pearl Block inlays and 22 medium-jumbo frets across a 25.5-inch scale. The nut is a Graph Tech Black Tusq XL unit measuring 43 mm. Pickups are Lundgren-designed units — an AlNiCo II in the neck position and an AlNiCo V at the bridge — selected via a 3-way toggle switch. Each pickup is governed by its own volume and tone control, both tone pots fitted with push-pull coil-split functionality. The bridge is a Long Travel Tune-O-Matic with Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks. Tuning is handled by Graph Tech Ratio machines.
