Hagstrom built the Super Swede 2020 as part of its continuing Super Swede series, positioning it as a single-cutaway electric with a carved maple top over an African mahogany body. The model carried the H-Expander truss rod — a Hagstrom-proprietary reinforcement system — and a set mahogany neck, placing it firmly in the upper tier of the brand's production line.
The neck carries a Hagstrom Resinator fingerboard with a 15" radius and pearl block inlays over 22 medium-jumbo frets. The nut is a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL unit at 43 mm width. Pickups are Lundgren-designed units — an AlNiCo II in the neck position and an AlNiCo V at the bridge — selected via a 3-way toggle. Each pickup has an independent volume and tone control; the tone pots are push-pull for coil splitting. The bridge is a long-travel tune-o-matic with a Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks, and tuning is handled by Graph Tech Ratio machines.
