Hagstrom produced the Super Swede 2020 as part of its long-running Super Swede line, positioning it as a full-featured single-cutaway electric built around a mahogany and carved maple platform. The SUSWE20-DSM-U was offered in the Dark Storm finish.
The body paired a two-piece African mahogany core with a three-quarter-inch carved maple top. The African mahogany set neck carried Hagstrom's H-Expander truss rod and was topped with a Hagstrom Resinator fingerboard at a 15-inch radius, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and pearl block inlays. Scale length ran 25.5 inches, and the nut — a Graph Tech Black Tusq XL — measured 43 mm. Pickup duties fell to a pair of Lundgren-designed units: an AlNiCo II at the neck and an AlNiCo V at the bridge, selected via a 3-way toggle switch. The control layout comprised two volume and two tone knobs, each tone pot fitted with a push-pull coil-split function. The Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks, while Graph Tech Ratio tuning machines handled tuning stability at the headstock.
