Cort built the SFX-ME-OP as part of its SFX Series, positioning it as an acoustic-electric designed for both stage and studio use. The SFX Slim Body Depth format and Venetian cutaway gave players access to the upper register while keeping the instrument comfortable for extended use. The Open Pore finish, indicated in the product name, left the wood surface uncoated for a more natural feel.
The guitar was constructed with a spruce top braced with Advanced X-Bracing, paired with African Mahogany (Okoume) back and sides and joined to a Mahogany (Palaquium) neck via a dovetail neck joint. The neck carries a 43mm nut width and runs a 643mm (25.3") scale to a Merbau fretboard with 20 frets and dot inlays. A Merbau bridge anchors the coated strings. Electronics consist of a ceramic pickup feeding a Cort CE304T preamp system. Ivory binding trims the body.
Owners requiring setup work, fret attention, or help matching replacement parts — including preamp components or bridge saddle dimensions — should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
