Cort built the SFX-E-NS as part of its SFX Series, positioning it as the brand's interpretation of the modern acoustic-electric. The model featured a slim body depth with a Venetian cutaway and an arched back, designed to improve resonance while keeping the instrument comfortable for players who favour a shallower profile. The SFX-E-NS sat as an accessible entry point into the series with a solid spruce top over African Mahogany (Okoume) back and sides.
The neck was shaped to a Modern "V" profile in Mahogany (Palaquium) and joined the body via a dovetail joint, with a 643mm (25.3") scale length and a 43mm nut width. The Ovangkol fretboard and bridge carried 20 frets with dot inlays, and the instrument shipped strung with D'Addario EXP16 strings. Under the solid spruce top, Advanced Scalloped X-Bracing handled the structural and tonal work. Electronics consisted of a ceramic pickup routed through a Cort CE304T preamp system. Aesthetic detailing included black binding with white pearl purfling, and an acryl pearl top purfling and rosette. The NS designation indicates a Natural Satin finish.
Owners requiring setup adjustments, fret work, or compatible replacement parts — including saddle, nut, or electronics components — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
