Cort built the SFX-E-3TSS as part of its SFX Series, a line conceived around a slim-body acoustic-electric format with a Venetian cutaway. The model sat within Cort's effort to address players seeking a more compact, stage-friendly acoustic body without departing from conventional acoustic construction, using a dovetail neck joint and Advanced Scalloped X-Bracing under the solid spruce top.
The SFX-E-3TSS features a solid spruce top over African Mahogany (Okoume) back and sides, with a Mahogany (Palaquium) neck shaped to a Modern "V" profile. The fretboard and bridge are both Ovangkol, with dot inlays across 20 frets on a 643mm (25.3") scale. Nut width measures 43mm (1 11/16"). Binding is black with white pearl purfling, and the rosette is finished in acryl pearl purfling. Electronics are handled by the Cort CE304T preamp paired with a ceramic pickup. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXP16 strings. The body depth follows Cort's SFX Slim Body Depth format, with an arched back as noted in the original series documentation.
Owners seeking replacement parts — including Ovangkol bridge saddles, CE304T-compatible preamp components, or EXP16-gauge string replacements — should use the specifications above to confirm compatibility before sourcing; the 43mm nut width and 643mm scale are the key measurements for neck-end parts and string sets.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
