Cort built the SFX-DAO-NAT as part of its SFX Series, positioning it as the brand's interpretation of the modern acoustic-electric. The series centred on Cort's own slim body shape — specified at 83×83mm depth — combined with a Venetian cutaway and a modern V-shape neck profile. An arched back was incorporated into the design to contribute to the instrument's resonance characteristics.
The body's top, back and sides are all constructed from Dao, with a Mahogany (Palaquium) neck joined to the body via a dovetail neck joint. The fretboard and bridge are both Merbau, accompanied by dot inlays and a red acryl rosette with ivory binding throughout. The neck runs to a 43mm nut width across a 643mm (25.3") scale length, and the fretboard carries 20 frets. Bracing follows an Advanced X-Bracing pattern. On the electronics side, a ceramic pickup feeds into a Cort CE304T preamp system. The finish on this example is Natural Glossy.
Owners requiring setup adjustments, fret work, or guidance on sourcing compatible replacement parts — including bridge saddle, nut blanks sized to the 43mm width, or preamp components — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
