Cort built the GA-MEDX-M-OP as an all-mahogany entry in its GA Series Grand Regal line, positioning it as a more accessible option within the Grand Auditorium range for players drawn to mahogany's tonal character and appearance. The body features a Venetian cutaway and is joined to the neck via a dovetail neck joint.
Top, back, sides, and neck are all mahogany, with a merbau fretboard and merbau bridge. The neck runs to a 1¾" (45mm) nut width across a 25.5" (648mm) scale and carries 20 frets. Bracing is Advanced X-Bracing. Tuning is handled by die-cast tuners, and the guitar ships with Cort's CE306T electronics system. The finish is an open pore treatment across the mahogany surfaces.
