The mounting studs are the pivot point the bridge rocks on. When they wear, corrode, or get swapped for the wrong diameter, the knife edges can't seat consistently — and the bridge stops returning to pitch regardless of how well the rest of the system is set up. These are Floyd Rose Special Series replacement studs in satin chrome, hardened steel, sold as a set of two.

Whether these studs fit your guitar is decided by the threaded insert already pressed into the body — not by the bridge, and not by the finish. Stud and insert diameters are not interchangeable between metric and imperial bodies, and they differ across Floyd Rose series. Before ordering, identify which insert is in your body. If you need to pull the insert to check it, that is a bench job: pulling an insert without the right tool damages the body. If you are not certain which insert you have, measure it or bring the guitar in.

The studs are hardened steel. That matters because the knife edges bear directly on them under string tension and repeated dive-bomb cycles. Soft studs wear a groove into the pivot surface, and once that groove is there the bridge rocks in a rut rather than returning cleanly to center.
