The pivot studs the Floyd Rose Special tremolo rocks on. When knife edges start to feel sloppy or the bridge stops returning to pitch cleanly, the studs are a common cause — they wear at the contact point and go out of round before the bridge itself gives up. This is a direct replacement set for the Special Series, hardened steel with a nickel finish, sold as a pair.

Whether these studs fit your guitar is decided by the insert already pressed into the body — not the bridge, not the body wood, not the series sticker on your headstock. Stud and insert diameters vary between Floyd Rose series and between metric and imperial bodies, and those dimensions are not interchangeable. If your inserts are still in the body, that is what you are matching to. Pulling an insert to check or swap it is a bench job; if you have not done it before, bring the guitar in rather than risk splitting the wood.

The studs are hardened steel. The knife edges will wear softer metal faster than they wear themselves, so a stud that started soft or has case-hardening worn through is worth replacing as a first step before assuming the bridge needs recutting.
