The base plate is the structural core of the Floyd Rose Special tremolo — the machined steel body that the saddles, sustain block, fine tuners and mounting hardware all bolt to. This is the Antique Silver version, part number FRS2TBPASP, for the Special series only.
The knife edges are integral to this plate, and they are what decides whether a Floyd Rose holds pitch or not. When knife edges round over — from years of use, from soft steel studs, from a bridge that was never quite level — no amount of spring tension adjustment or setup work recovers the system. The plate has to come out. Before ordering, confirm you are running a Special series unit: saddles, sustain block, string-lock hardware and tension plates are all dimensioned for their own plate and do not swap between series. Get the series wrong and none of your existing hardware will seat correctly.
The plate is hardened steel with an Antique Silver finish. Hardened steel at the knife edges is what you want — softer material is why some budget systems fail early and why this plate is a straight swap for the original rather than a step down.
If you are not certain this is the right plate for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the fit before you order.
