These are the two pivot studs the Floyd Rose Special bridge rocks on. The knife edges of the baseplate sit directly on these studs, and that contact point is where return-to-pitch lives or dies. When studs wear oval, or when a stud is swapped for one from a different series, the bridge stops seating consistently and tuning stability goes with it. Replacing a worn or wrong-spec stud pair is often the fix before anything else gets touched.
Whether these fit your guitar is decided by the threaded inserts already pressed into the body — not by the bridge, and not by the guitar's brand. Stud and insert diameters differ between the Special series and other Floyd Rose series, and between metric and imperial bodies. Before ordering, confirm your existing inserts are Special-series spec. If the inserts are wrong, pulling them is a bench job; do not force a mismatched stud.
The studs are hardened steel with an antique bronze finish, matching Special series hardware. Hardened steel matters here because the knife edges are bearing directly on the stud surface — soft material wears fast under a bridge that moves with every note.
If you are not certain this is the correct stud for your setup, send us the make, model and year of your guitar and we will confirm before you order.
