The arm coupling is the mechanism that clamps the tremolo arm into the bridge block and controls how it sits — whether it stays put at the angle you set or flops around when you let go. When the coupling wears out or strips, the arm either won't hold its position or won't thread in cleanly at all. This kit replaces that assembly on a Floyd Rose Original series bridge.
Fit is decided before this kit ships. It is built to the dimensions of the Floyd Rose Original series. If your guitar has an Original series bridge installed, this is a direct swap. If it has a different series — Special, 1000, Pro, or a licensed copy — the geometry may not match, and forcing a non-matching coupling into a block is a repair job, not a parts swap. Check the series stamped or engraved on your existing baseplate before ordering.
The coupling components are stainless steel. Stainless resists the corrosion and galling that eats softer alloys over time, particularly at threaded contact points that see repeated arm insertion and removal.
If you are not certain which series bridge is in your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will check it.
