Description

The sustain block is the brass mass that hangs below the base plate and takes the pull of the springs. When the original block is cracked, stripped at the string slots, or swapped out during a previous repair with the wrong size, the bridge stops returning to pitch. This is the Floyd Rose Original replacement block in nickel-plated brass, 37mm, part number FROTB37P.

Before ordering, measure your cavity clearance and your existing block. Block length has to clear the body cavity — too long and the block bottoms out before a full dive; too short and the springs pull at the wrong angle and the bridge won't sit level. The mounting screw pattern also has to match your base plate. This block is spec'd for the Floyd Rose Original series, so if you are running a licensed copy or a different Floyd Rose series, confirm the base plate matches before you buy.

The block is nickel-plated brass. Brass is denser than zinc and the plating resists the corrosion that works into raw metal over years of contact with spring sweat and body oils. A corroded or cracked block is a common reason a well-set-up Original suddenly loses sustain or develops a dead spot on certain strings.

If you are not certain this is the right block for your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you order.
