When the housing strips, cracks, or loses thread engagement so the arm wobbles or won't stay at the angle you set, this is the part you replace. Fit is not universal across Floyd Rose systems. The Non-Fine Tuner designation matters: Floyd Rose has produced several distinct series over the decades, and parts that look the same between generations are cut to different dimensions and are not interchangeable. The housing is hardened steel. That matters because the arm threads into it under repeated lateral load every time you use the bar. Softer metal — or a worn original — lets the arm develop play, which transfers directly to tuning instability at the arm socket.
