The FRT804000 is Floyd Rose's 1000 Series double-locking tremolo built specifically for 8-string guitars. It ships as a complete kit: bridge, locking nut, tremolo block, springs and claw, mounting studs, and all installation hardware. Nothing else is required to complete a full double-locking setup once it is fitted to the guitar.
String count and mounting style are what decide whether this fits your guitar — and both have to be right. This is an 8-string unit; it will not work on a 6- or 7-string instrument. Beyond string count, the guitar's existing body route is the other deciding factor. A recessed Floyd Rose installation requires a rear cavity and a specific top route; a top-mount guitar sits differently. Stud spacing and neck angle also have to line up. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge with this system, that is a routing job. If you are replacing an existing 8-string double-locking unit, measure your stud spacing and cavity dimensions before ordering and compare them against this bridge's specs.
The base plate and saddles are hardened steel. The tremolo block is nickel-plated brass. The arm is stainless steel, screws are hardened steel, springs are coiled steel. This unit is finished in nickel.
