Description

The FRT803000 is Floyd Rose's 1000 Series double-locking tremolo system built specifically for 8-string guitars. It ships as a complete kit: bridge, locking nut, springs and claw, mounting studs, and installation hardware. Nothing else needs to be sourced separately to get the system running.

String count and mounting style are the two things that determine whether this unit fits your guitar. This is an 8-string system — it will not work on a 6- or 7-string instrument. Beyond string count, the route in your guitar body is what decides the job scope. A recessed Floyd installation requires a rear cavity; a top-mount does not. Stud spacing and neck angle have to match what's already in the body, or the bench work expands significantly. If you are replacing a non-locking bridge, that is a routing job. Measure your existing route and stud spacing before ordering.

The baseplate and saddles are hardened steel. The block is nickel-plated brass. The arm is stainless steel. Springs and screws are steel. This unit is finished in gold — part number FRT803000.
