This is the center nut clamping block for the Floyd Rose Original 7-string locking nut. When the clamping block is stripped, cracked, or lost, the nut cannot lock — strings slip at the headstock end and the bridge does all the work alone. This part restores the clamp. It is a direct replacement for the Original series 7-string nut only; it is not interchangeable with 6-string blocks or with blocks from other Floyd Rose series.
A locking nut has to match both the neck width at the nut slot and the fretboard radius — close-but-wrong means the nut buzzes or the outer strings crowd the fretboard edge. Floyd Rose sizes its nuts by width designation (R2, R3, R4 and so on), and the block has to correspond to the nut it sits in. Do not guess from the guitar model name. Measure the existing nut first, confirm you are running an Original series 7-string nut, then order.
The block is hardened steel with a gold finish, matching the Original series gold hardware. Hardened steel matters here because the clamping screw bears directly on this block every time the nut is locked; softer material deforms under repeated use and eventually stops clamping cleanly.
If you are not certain this block fits your nut, send us the make, model, and year of your guitar and we will confirm before you order.
