The base plate is the structural core of the tremolo — the knife edges are machined into it, the saddles bolt across it, the sustain block hangs below it, and the mounting screws locate through it. When the knife edges round over, the bridge loses its pivot point and the guitar stops returning to pitch. No amount of spring tension or setup adjustment fixes worn edges. The plate gets replaced. This is the Floyd Rose 1000 Series replacement in black nickel, part number FR1TBPBN, made from hardened steel.

Before ordering, confirm the series and string count of your existing bridge. The 1000 Series plate is not a drop-in for Original Series, Special, or any other Floyd Rose variant. The saddle spacing, block mounting, string-lock hardware and tension plate geometry are each cut for their own plate. If you bolt 1000 Series saddles to a different plate, the string spacing will be wrong. If you try to run an Original Series block on a 1000 Series plate, the geometry will not line up. Match the series exactly.

The plate is hardened steel with a black nickel finish. Hardened steel resists edge wear longer than softer alloys — that is the point of the knife-edge design. The black nickel finish matches the rest of a black nickel 1000 Series system.
