The base plate is the structural core of the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo — the plate the saddles, sustain block, spring claw hardware and tension plates all bolt to. This is FR1TBPB: the direct replacement plate for that system, in hardened steel with a black finish.
Fit here is not adjustable. The knife edges are machined into this plate, and they are the part of the whole system that wears. When they round over — and they do, eventually — the bridge stops returning to pitch and no amount of setup work fixes it. The plate has to go. When you replace it, the series and string count have to match exactly: saddles, sustain block, string-lock screws and tension plates are each cut for their own plate geometry and do not cross over to a different series. If your guitar has a Floyd Rose 1000 Series unit, this is the plate. If you are not certain which series is fitted, measure before you order.
The plate is hardened steel throughout. Hardened steel at the knife edges is what the pivot studs bear against on every dive and pull-up — softer material rounds over faster and accelerates the pitch-return problem you are trying to solve.
If you are unsure whether FR1TBPB is the right plate for your specific guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you commit.
