The FR1NR3G is a Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking nut in a gold finish. It clamps the strings at the headstock end of the neck, locking pitch at that anchor point so tuning changes at the bridge stay isolated and the nut end does not creep. This is a direct replacement part for 1000 Series Floyd Rose systems.
Fit is decided by two things: neck width at the nut slot and fretboard radius. Floyd Rose sizes its nuts by width code — R2, R3, R4 and so on — and this part is an R3. That number has to match your existing nut, not just the guitar model, because the same model left the factory with different widths across production runs. Radius matters just as much: a nut ground to a flatter radius than your fretboard will leave the outer strings sitting proud and buzzing no matter how tight you clamp it. Measure your current nut before ordering.
The nut is machined from hardened steel. Gold plating is a surface finish only — the substrate underneath is the same hardened steel used across the Floyd Rose line. If the gold on your current nut is worn but the nut itself is intact, this is a cosmetic replacement as much as a functional one.
If you are not certain the R3 width matches your neck, send us the make, model and year of your guitar and we will check it against what we have on the bench.
