Description

The string retainer bar sits between the locking nut and the tuning pegs. Its job is to pull the strings down over the nut at a sharp enough angle that the string locks stay under load. Without adequate break angle, a hard dive will pull a string free of the nut before the lock can hold it.

This retainer is made for the Floyd Rose 1000 Series. Mounting hole spacing is series-specific — drop it onto any other Floyd Rose family and the holes will not line up. Check the bridge plate for the series number before ordering. The height this bar sits at sets the break angle directly; if a previous owner swapped the shim stack, measure the angle you have now before assuming a stock retainer restores the original geometry.

Steel construction with a chrome finish. Screws are included. Chrome will match a 1000 Series bridge in stock finish; if the existing hardware has aged or been refinished, the new bar will read brighter until it beds in.

If you are not certain this is the right retainer for your guitar, send us the make, model, and year and we will check it against what we have on the shelf.
