The string retainer sits between the locking nut and the tuning machines, pressing the strings down to create the break angle that keeps them seated in the nut. Without enough angle, strings lift out of the nut blocks under a hard dive and the bridge never returns to pitch. This is the Floyd Rose 1000 Series retainer bar in antique silver, supplied with its mounting screws.
Fit is the first thing to check. The retainer controls break angle, so height matters — if a previous owner shimmed or swapped the original, confirm the replacement will sit at the right height for your nut. More critically, the mounting hole spacing on this retainer is specific to the 1000 Series. It will not drop straight onto a different Floyd Rose series or a licensed copy without verifying the hole pattern first. Match the series number on your current retainer before ordering.
The bar is steel with an antique silver finish. If your guitar has a mix of hardware finishes or a corroded original retainer, the antique silver is the correct match for a 1000 Series instrument finished in that colour. A steel retainer is functional rather than decorative — the finish is there to match the rest of the system, not to add anything to how it works.
If you are not certain which series is on your guitar, send us the make, model and year and we will confirm the right part before you order.
