The FR1NR2AB is a hardened steel locking nut in an antique bronze finish, part of Floyd Rose's 1000 Series. It clamps the strings at the headstock end of the neck, removing that anchor point from the tuning equation so the bridge can do its job without the strings slipping at the top end. If your current nut is cracked, stripped at the clamping screws, or simply worn past the point of holding, this is the replacement part.
Fit is decided by two things: the width of the nut slot on your neck, and the fretboard radius. Floyd Rose sizes its nuts — R2, R3, R4 and so on — to match specific neck widths, and the radius of the nut's string bed has to match your fretboard. This part is the R2 size. That tells you nothing useful until you measure the nut slot on your own neck. Too narrow and the strings crowd the edge; too flat a radius and the outer strings sit proud of the board and buzz regardless of how you set it up. Measure the existing nut before ordering. Do not guess from the model name.
The nut is hardened steel, which is the correct material for a locking nut under string tension. Softer materials wear at the clamping faces and at the string slots, which shows up as tuning drift even with the locks tightened. The antique bronze finish is a cosmetic match for guitars already wearing Floyd Rose 1000 Series hardware in that colour.
If you are not certain this is the right size for your neck, send us the make, model and year of your guitar and we will check it against what we have on the bench.
