Description

Ibanez positioned the AS93FMVLS within the AS Artcore Expressionist series as a hollow body electric guitar, sitting above the standard Artcore line and aimed at players seeking closer tolerances and more specified hardware than the entry-level offerings. The model was finished in Violin Sunburst.

The body carries a Flamed Maple top, back, and sides. The three-piece Nyatoh and Maple neck is set into the body and carries a bound Ebony fretboard with acrylic block inlays across 22 medium frets. The scale runs 628 mm (24.7 inches), the nut width measures 43 mm, and the fretboard radius is 305 mm. Neck thickness is 21 mm at the first fret and 24 mm at the ninth. Body length is 19¼ inches with a maximum depth of 2⅝ inches and a lower-bout width of 15¾ inches. A Gibraltar Performer bridge with 10.5 mm string spacing pairs with a Quik Change III tailpiece. Both pickup positions carry Super 58 humbuckers wound with Alnico magnets operating passively, and all hardware is finished in gold. The guitar left the factory strung with a .010–.052 set in standard E tuning.

Owners requiring bridge saddle replacements should verify compatibility with the Gibraltar Performer platform, and those sourcing nut blanks should note the 43 mm width. For setup, intonation, or any structural work on the hollow body, consulting a qualified guitar technician is advisable.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
