Ibanez built the AS93FMLVLS as part of the AS Artcore Expressionist Series, positioning it above the standard Artcore line as a hollow body electric guitar. The Artcore Expressionist Series represented Ibanez's effort to bring more premium materials and construction details to the Artcore platform.
The guitar was constructed with a three-piece Nyatoh and Maple neck joined via a set-in joint, topped with a bound Ebony fretboard carrying acrylic block inlays across 22 medium frets. The body featured Flamed Maple throughout — top, back, and sides. Hardware was finished in gold and included a Gibraltar Performer bridge with 10.5mm string spacing, a Quik Change III tailpiece, and a pair of passive Alnico-loaded Super 58 humbuckers at both neck and bridge positions. The scale length ran 628mm (24.7"), with a 305mm fretboard radius and a nut width of 43mm.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Gibraltar Performer bridge accepts standard tune-o-matic style saddles at the stated 10.5mm string spacing, and the Quik Change III tailpiece uses its own mounting system. For setup adjustments, intonation work, or pickup replacement, a qualified guitar technician familiar with hollow body instruments will be best placed to advise on compatible components.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
