Ibanez positioned the AS73FMTAF within the AS Series Artcore line as a hollow body electric guitar finished in Transparent Autumn Fade. It carried a flamed maple top over linden back and sides, with a set-in nyatoh neck — a construction approach the AS Artcore range employed across its hollow body offerings.
The bound walnut fretboard features acrylic block inlays and runs to 22 medium frets across a 628mm (24.7") scale with a 305mm radius. Nut width measures 43mm. The guitar was equipped with a Gibraltar Performer bridge at a 10.5mm string spacing and a Quik Change III tailpiece, with all hardware finished in chrome. Two passive ceramic Classic Elite humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — handled pickup duties. The guitar left the factory strung in standard E-to-E tuning with a .010–.052 gauge string set.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — bridge saddles, tailpiece studs, tuning machines, or pickup covers — should cross-reference the Gibraltar Performer and Quik Change III hardware families for dimensional compatibility. A qualified guitar technician can confirm fit and carry out any setup or wiring work on this instrument.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
