Ibanez built the RG470MBAFM as part of the RG Series, positioning it as a double-locking tremolo-equipped electric guitar with a three-pickup HSH configuration. The model carried the Autumn Fade Metallic finish designation within the line.
The guitar was constructed with a Meranti body and a Wizard III Maple neck, the latter joined to a Maple fretboard fitted with black dot inlays and 24 jumbo frets. Neck dimensions measure 43mm at the nut, 58mm at the 24th fret, 19mm thickness at the first fret, and 21mm at the 12th fret, with a 400mm radius. The 648mm (25.5") scale runs to a locking nut with 10.5mm string spacing at the bridge. Pickups are all passive Quantum units — a ceramic-loaded humbucker at the neck, an Alnico single-coil in the middle, and a ceramic-loaded humbucker at the bridge — with all hardware finished in black. The double locking tremolo bridge pairs with the locking nut to maintain tuning under aggressive use. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042) in standard E tuning.
Owners requiring setup work, tremolo adjustment, or replacement parts should consult a qualified guitar technician, who can advise on compatible double-locking tremolo components and Wizard-profile neck fits.

What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
