Ibanez built the AM93QMJBB as part of the AM Artcore Expressionist Series, a hollow body electric guitar positioned above the standard Artcore line. The Jet Blue Burst finish and quilted maple construction placed it among the more visually distinctive entries in the Expressionist range.
The guitar was constructed with a three-piece Nyatoh/Maple set-in neck joined to a hollow body featuring a quilted maple top, back, and sides. The bound ebony fretboard carries acrylic block inlays across 22 medium frets at a 305mm radius, with a nut width of 43mm and a 628mm (24.7") scale length. Hardware throughout is finished in gold, anchored by a Gibraltar Performer bridge with 10.5mm string spacing and a Quik Change III tailpiece. Electronics consist of a matched pair of Super 58 humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge — both passive, Alnico-loaded units. The guitar left the factory strung with a .010–.052 set in standard E tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — bridge saddles, tailpiece components, tuning machines or pickup covers — should verify dimensions against the specifications above before ordering, and consult a qualified guitar technician for setup, wiring, or structural work.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
