Description

Ibanez produced the UV70PBK as part of the UV Signature Series, a seven-string electric guitar line built around the extended-range requirements of the format. Within the UV range, the UV70P occupied the position of a production-model seven-string carrying the series' core construction principles: a multi-piece through-neck architecture, an HSH pickup arrangement voiced for the format, and a double-locking tremolo system scaled to seven strings.

The guitar was built around an American Basswood body and a five-piece Maple/Walnut Wizard-7 neck reinforced with KTS TITANIUM rods. The bound Panga Panga fretboard carries 24 jumbo frets with Premium fret edge treatment and green dot inlays, running a 400mmR radius over a 648mm/25.5" scale. Nut width is 48mm, widening to 68mm at the 24th fret, with neck thickness measuring 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the twelfth. The Edge-Zero II-7 tremolo bridge is spaced at 10.8mm string spacing. Pickups are a DiMarzio Blaze set — passive, ceramic — in an H/S/H configuration: Blaze (H) at the neck, Blaze (S) at the middle, and Blaze (H) at the bridge. Hardware throughout is finished in Cosmo black. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120-7 strings (.009/.011/.016/.024/.032/.042/.054) in standard seven-string tuning (low to high: B, E, A, D, G, B, E).

Owners requiring setup work, tremolo calibration, or assistance sourcing compatible seven-string replacement parts — including Edge-Zero II-7 components or DiMarzio Blaze-series pickups — should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with extended-range instruments and double-locking tremolo systems.
