- Ocean Fade Metallic
Ibanez built the S521OFM as part of the S Series line, a range positioned around the brand's thin, lightweight body platform and fast-playing Wizard neck profile. The Ocean Fade Metallic finish places this model within the standard S521 production run as a colour variant.
The guitar was constructed with a Meranti body and a Maple Wizard III neck, with a Jatoba fretboard carrying off-set white dot inlays across 24 jumbo frets. The scale length runs 648mm (25.5"). Nut width measures 43mm, widening to 58mm at the 24th fret; neck thickness is 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the twelfth, with a 400mm radius fretboard. Hardware throughout is finished in Cosmo black, including the F106 bridge, which has a string spacing of 10.5mm. Pickup duties are handled by a pair of passive, ceramic-magnet Quantum humbuckers — one at the neck, one at the bridge. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard E tuning.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, fret work, or compatible replacement parts for the F106 bridge or Quantum pickups should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with Ibanez hardware specifications.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
