Ibanez produced the MM1TAB as part of the MM Signature Series, a line built around a specific artist collaboration. Within the Ibanez catalogue, the Signature Series positioned instruments above the standard production lines, with hardware and material selections specified to the endorsing player's requirements.
The MM1TAB was constructed with an African Mahogany body topped with Flamed Maple, paired with an MM S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck and a matching S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple fretboard dressed with Abalone dot inlays. Frets are Jumbo Stainless Steel. The nut is Bone, cut to 42mm width, widening to 57mm at the 24th fret; neck thickness runs 20.5mm at the first fret and 22.5mm at the twelfth, over a 305mm radius. The 648mm/25.5" scale drives a Gotoh T1802 tremolo bridge with 10.5mm string spacing. Both pickup positions carry Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers — passive, Alnico-magnet units at neck and bridge — with all hardware finished in Chrome.
