Ibanez built the AZ226PBCBB as part of the AZ Premium Series, positioning it as a premium-tier double-humbucker-capable instrument within the AZ line. The model carries a Poplar Burl top over an American Basswood body and is finished in Cerulean Blue Burst.
The neck is an AZ Oval C profile in Roasted Maple, joined by a Roasted Maple fretboard with Black dot inlays, 22 Jumbo Stainless Steel frets, a 305mm radius, and a Graph Tech nut set at 42mm width. Scale length runs 648mm (25.5"). The six-string configuration is strung from the factory with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard tuning.
