Ibanez built the SR300ELIPT as part of the SR (Soundgear) Series, positioning it as a passive-pickup, active-EQ electric bass within that line. The SR Series was designed around a slim, fast-feel neck profile, and the SR300ELIPT continued that approach with a four-string configuration in an Iron Pewter finish.
The bass was constructed with a Nyatoh body and a five-piece Maple/Walnut SR4 neck, with a Jatoba fretboard carrying white dot inlays across 24 medium frets. The scale length ran 864mm (34 inches), with a nut width of 38mm and a fretboard radius of 305mmR — measurements that place it firmly in standard long-scale bass territory. Neck thickness measured 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the twelfth. String spacing at the bridge was 19mm. The Accu-cast B120 bridge and Cosmo black hardware completed the hardware package. Pickups were a matched pair of passive PowerSpan Dual Coil units at neck and bridge positions, fed into an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ with a 3-way Power Tap switch — the switch allowing the player to alter the effective pickup voicing. The plastic nut, D'Addario strings gauged .045/.065/.085/.105, and factory tuning of E–A–D–G (low to high) rounded out the specification.
Owners needing setup work, fretboard maintenance, or replacement hardware sourcing — particularly for the Accu-cast B120 bridge or PowerSpan pickup series — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with bass instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
