Description

Ibanez built the SR1345BDWF as part of the SR Premium Series, positioning it as a high-specification five-string electric bass within the broader SR lineup. The model carried the Dual Shadow Burst Flat finish and combined premium tonewoods with boutique pickup and hardware choices aimed at the working professional bass player.

The neck is a five-piece Atlas-5 construction in Panga Panga and Purpleheart, reinforced with KTS TITANIUM rods, joined to an African Mahogany body topped with Panga Panga. The bound Panga Panga fretboard features Abalone oval inlays across 24 medium frets with premium edge treatment, and carries a 305mm radius. Nut width measures 45mm, width at the 24th fret is 68mm, and neck thickness runs 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the twelfth. The 34-inch scale and 16.5mm string spacing at the MR5S bridge accommodate the factory tuning of B–E–A–D–G strung with D'Addario EXL165 gauged .045/.065/.085/.105/.130. A Graph Tech BLACK TUSQ XL nut and all-black hardware complete the assembly. Electronics are a pair of passive Nordstrand Big Single pickups — one at the neck, one at the bridge — fed into an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ with an EQ bypass switch (passive tone control on the treble pot) and a 3-way mid-frequency switch.

Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the MR5S bridge saddles, Nordstrand Big Single pickup covers, or Graph Tech BLACK TUSQ XL nut blanks — should verify string spacing and post dimensions against the specifications listed here before ordering. For setup, intonation work, or fret maintenance, consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with five-string bass instruments.

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
