Ibanez built the SR650ENNF as part of its long-running SR (Soundgear) Series, positioning it as a passive-voiced, boutique-appointed four-string bass within that line. The model featured a five-piece Jatoba/Walnut neck joined to an Ash body, with a Jatoba fretboard carrying abalone oval inlays across 24 medium frets.
Electronics centred on a matched pair of passive Nordstrand pickups — a CND P at the neck and a CND J at the bridge — fed into Ibanez's Custom Electronics 3-band EQ. That preamp included an EQ bypass switch, a passive tone control on the treble pot, and a 3-way mid-frequency selector, giving the player broad tonal flexibility without leaving the passive signal path. Hardware throughout was finished in black, anchored by an Accu-cast B500 bridge set to a 19mm string spacing. The nut measured 38mm wide and was made of plastic; neck thickness ran 19.5mm at the first fret and 21.5mm at the twelfth, tapering to 62mm width at the 24th fret. Scale length was 864mm (34 inches), and the fretboard radius was 305mmR. The instrument shipped strung with D'Addario EXL165 strings (.045/.065/.085/.105) in standard E–A–D–G tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including bridge saddles compatible with the Accu-cast B500, Nordstrand CND-series pickup covers, or nut blanks sized to the 38mm width — should consult a qualified luthier or bass technician for fit confirmation and setup work.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
