Washburn built the WG7SCE as part of its Harvest Series, positioning it as a grand auditorium cutaway acoustic-electric. The model sat in the Harvest lineup as a steel-string six-string aimed at players who needed amplified performance capability alongside acoustic playability.
The top was solid Sitka spruce, braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing. Back and sides were mahogany. The satin mahogany neck carried a two-way truss rod and met a rosewood fretboard at a 43mm ABS nut, with dot inlays marking the positions across 20 frets on a 25.5-inch scale. The rosette was a custom wood inlay. Electronics consisted of the EQ4T preamp system. The rosewood bridge anchored the strings, chrome diecast tuners handled tuning stability, and the guitar shipped strung with D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze strings.
