Washburn positioned the WD7S within its Harvest Series as a dreadnought acoustic guitar built around a solid Sitka Spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The model carried a satin mahogany neck fitted with a two-way truss rod, and the overall configuration reflected a working acoustic oriented toward straightforward playability and tonal clarity.
The top was braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka Spruce bracing, a detail that distinguishes the WD7S from laminate-top alternatives in the same price tier. The rosewood fretboard runs 20 frets and carries dot inlays, with a 43mm ABS nut at the headstock end. A custom wood inlay rosette surrounds the soundhole, and the bridge is also rosewood. Tuning machines are chrome diecast. Washburn specified D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze strings as the factory-fitted set. The instrument is acoustic only, with no onboard electronics or preamp system.
