Washburn positioned the WD7S-O-U within the Harvest Series as a dreadnought acoustic built around a solid spruce top, pairing it with mahogany back, sides, and neck to form a traditional tonewoods combination at an accessible tier of the line.
The solid spruce top was supported by quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce bracing, a construction approach associated with controlled stiffness and note clarity across the instrument's register. The neck carried a satin finish and housed a two-way truss rod; the fretboard and bridge were both Ovangkol, with dot inlays across 20 frets at a 25-1/2" scale. The 1-11/16" ABS nut, chrome diecast tuners, and chrome hardware round out the specification. The body received a gloss finish and featured the Washburn Heritage rosette. Strings were factory-fitted with a D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze set.
