Washburn positioned the EA12B within its Festival Series as a mini jumbo cutaway acoustic-electric, pairing an accessible body size with onboard electronics for players who needed amplified performance from a compact instrument.
The body was constructed entirely of basswood — top, back, and sides — braced with quarter-sawn scalloped Sitka spruce. The mahogany neck, fitted with a two-way truss rod, carried a rosewood fretboard with dot inlays and a 43 mm Graphtech Nubone nut. Scale length was 25.5 inches across 21 frets. The abalone rosette provided the instrument's primary decorative detail. Electronics were handled by the EQ4T preamp system. The rosewood bridge, chrome die-cast tuners, and a D'Addario EXP-16 light phosphor bronze string set completed the specification. A deluxe mini jumbo case (GCMJDLX) was sold separately.
